Fall 2003 Training Class Schedule

Training will begin with formal informational and experiential group sessions. This fall, we will be conducting two different "sections" or training groups, in order to accommodate people with a variety of schedules.  One training group will meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings, while the other group will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  BOTH groups will come together for the weekend training sessions.

If you are interested in completing volunteer training, you will need to select one of the following training sessions:

 Monday-Wednesday group                     Tuesday-Thursday group

Monday,    Oct 20  5:00pm-10:00pm      Tuesday,  Oct 21 5:00pm-10:00pm

ALL OF YOUR TRAINING GROUP'S SESSIONS ARE MANDATORY AND CANNOT BE MISSED IF YOU ARE TO COMPLETE YOUR TRAINING.  Our training classes are designed to provide an understanding of crisis counseling with individuals who are facing a wide variety of problems and concerns.  You will be trained to provide crisis counseling both by telephone and face to face with walk-in clients.  After completing these formal training sessions, the remainder of your training is done on an individual basis, at your convenience.  We expect that you will be taking calls independently by the end of January or early February 2004.   For more information about the rest of the training program, please check out our Training Requirements.

If you would like to become a volunteer hotline counselor at The Crisis Center, please call us for application and return it as soon as possible, by no later than October 3 (but please try to return it sooner than that if possible-- we will need time to schedule interviews for 80 people between August 26 and October 10!).  When we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule an interview.  NOTE:  Interviews will end on October 10-- if you wait until the last minute, it may be hard to find a time to schedule an interview.  If you have any questions, please call Barry Koch at (513)523-4149 or stop in at the Crisis Center.  We welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
